Eindhoven Culinair is an event that is held once a year at the Stadswandelpark – the park located next to the Parktheater. This year it will already be the 20th edition! At Eindhoven Culinair, known restaurant owners from the region of Eindhoven present their cooking skills in separate pavilions by serving tasty dishes. Besides that, it is possible to get to know the products Horeca (Hotel-Restaurant-Catering) entrepreneurs are using for creating their specialties at the ‘Proeftuyn’ (taste garden).

Entrance costs €5 euro only. The currency of Eindhoven Culinair is the so called “Lempke”. Lempkes are equivalent in value to the euro and can be bought at the entrance. However, it is also possible to pay with euros.

On Saturday, 18. and Sunday, 19. May 2013 there will be the yearly ‘Pinkster Polo’ (Whitsun polo) at ‘Landgoed Eeckenrhoode’ (Eeckenrhoode estate) in Waalre. At this event, eight international polo teams and about 160 horses will show their skills on a polo field as big as five football pitches! Besides the polo tournament, there is a variety of things to see and do for visitors.

On Saturday between 16.00 and 21.00 hrs, there will be the Business Picknick where you can entertain your business guests in an informal way, or enjoy a good old-fashioned day out with your family and friends. You can put together your own picnic basket at the buffet. Lovely tapas and appetizers, completed with soft drinks, Swinckels beer, and wine. At dinner time, the famous authentic Argentinian ‘Asado’ will be served.

On Sunday the estate is open to the public. Neighbors, equestrian sports lovers, entrepreneurs, media, sightseers and bon vivants come to Waalre in large numbers and praise the special sport and casual atmosphere. We welcome you from 12.00 until 19.00 hrs to take a seat on the straw bales or the lounge furniture on the terrace to enjoy the polo matches. Various fresh drinks and snacks are for sale in the catering pavilions.

From Sunday, 19 May until Sunday 26 May 2013, the City of Eindhoven will host the second edition of Asia Week Eindhoven: A week filled with cultural performances, lectures and (business orientated) networking events focused on Asia.

On Monday, 20 May 2013 from 12.00 to 21.00 hrs, Korean Cultural Event presents art and design exhibitions, live contemporary Korean Jazz and electronic music at the OudeRechtbank. Meet and greet with the artists, designers, films and special Korean cuisine. The event is organized by local Koreans, Korean Students Association in the Netherlands and the Embassy of Korea.

In Nuenen you can walk where Vincent once walked, sit where Vincent once sat, and still see what Vincent once saw. You can experience in real life the lovely and unusual locations he painted. During DTW, professionals, scholars, students and the wide audience will witness and experience that technology contributes to innovation. That it is socially relevant, and also contributes to prosperity and wellness and that it is challenging to work and invest in.

The area of Eindhoven makes great achievements when it comes to high tech. For example, most smartphones and tablets have chips in them that are made by the machines of ASML. Are you flying from Schiphol to Barcelona? Then your luggage is being transported by the luggage systems made by Vanderlande from Veghel. And the smart pill by Philips has a “built-in” navigation that knows exactly where in the body medicine is needed. ‘Muziek op de Dommel’ (Music on the Dommel) is the opportunity for music ensembles from Eindhoven and surroundings to present themselves on a huge stage for a wide audience: A musical fest that will be remembered by everybody. Inhabitants from the region, students, young and old, musician or audience; everybody who loves music will enjoy this event.  During the whole day orchestras, choirs and ensembles from the Southeast en Mid-Brabant region will perform live classical music at a unique location: A huge floating stage on the Dommel near the Van Abbemuseum in Eindhoven. Because of the central location, free entrance and accessible music the festival is interesting for a wide audience.

Night of the Nerds shows how fascinating the world of technology and innovation is. Over the course of the evening, participants (girls and boys from age 15) are feasted on the latest digital, technological and media developments. Passionate 'certified nerds' with a proven track record will show participants their way around augmented reality, high-tech fashion, smart textiles, gaming, kinect, brain computer interface, robots, high-speed cameras, 3D-printing, electronic music, interactive dance floor and much more.

The evening kicks off at 18.00 hrs in the 'Klokgebouw'  (clock building). Then participants can roam the location and take part in a full and attractive program of crash courses, nerdtalks and experiences. The evening is concluded with drinks and a party. A new year, a great new location: the ‘Klokgebouw’ (clock building) in Eindhoven. Like last year, the night will be all about the quiz, which is played in teams and offers a chance to win some amazing prizes! On top of that there will be some great performances in the breaks as well as fresh stand-up comedy.

We’ll be testing your knowledge of science and technology in this quiz, which will be played in teams of 5 players. The questions will be on all topics related to the theme Science & Tech.
